HayballsInitially this template was meant to imitate John Constable’s famous landscape paintings. But I was never satisfied with the trees and  gave up and finally decided to release it as a generic landscape AOP.

It comes with two palettes:

The Rainbow 8 palette is capable of dealing with many different rural motives and colours, as the first five images indicate.

If you let DAP run for about 30 000 strokes you will be able to get very detailed paintings like the forest below.

The Constable palette has a selection of colours from some of John Constable’s most famous paintings. The images below are made with the Constable palette and the original photos (found on the net) are from  Dedham Vale and Flatford Mill in Suffolk where John Constable lived and made his paintings.

The brush strokes are my own scanned ones.

John Constable (11 June 1776-31 March 1837) was an English Romantic painter. Born in Suffolk, he is known principally for his landscape paintings of Dedham Vale, the area surrounding his home, now known as “Constable Country”, which he invested with an intensity of affection. (From Wikipedia.)

Looks terrific, especially the clouds. Very realistic brush strokes. Thanks for sharing.

Looks great ..used it on a portrait seems to work well too ..I used the bright palette ..
How do I upload my AOP here? Thanks Amzie

Jul 27, 2010 at 1:38 am

amzie: You can’t upload here unless Oscars gives you the necessary privileges. I got the impression he was not willing to give such privileges to more than a just a few active AOP makers and that others could ask the privileged ones to do the uploading for them.

amzie and MasterMind: Thanks to both for nice comments!

Many thanks to all of you for your nice comments! I suppose we are all yearning for the Mediachance boards to come back. And when the boards are back I look forward to see the landscape paintings you have created with my AOP!

Great AOP, congratulations. I’ve been working with it all day…making portraits and landscapes and loving the results. Keep up the good work.

I’m blown away by DAP and these extra templates will be such fun to try. Can’t wait to try all of them and post on Flickr. Thank you so much! I see the forum is down, are there other templates available?
