Dreamy Watercolors

Posted by ghealy on Jul 21, 2011 in AOP Templates

DreamyWatercolors AOP was created by Mary Warner and was posted in the old forum. Unfortunately, that is gone. The good news is Mary has agreed to allow me to upload my copy so others can enjoy her creativity.

Please note that the version I have did not include an image so I’ve taken the liberty to add one to the archive.

The first  image on the left is one of mine and was ran using default settings at 6 meg resolution. I find if you increase the outline setting one or two notches, you get a bit more definition as can be seen in the second image.  Also I’ll run this AOP usually at 10,000 strokes or better. All my personal tastes of course. As they say, YMMV

Whistler’s Rainbow

Posted by ghealy on Jul 13, 2011 in AOP Templates

AOP created by Automotion.

Mix of Andy’s Whistler and Rocambole’s rainbow. Works well on most images.

Keep the settings the same and let it run between 30.000 and 50.000 strokes for best results. Post work you may want to add a bit of contrast to make the dark areas darker.

Have Fun!

medSketch It!. AOP and Help

This AOP is identical to the Sketch It! AOP with the exception that the lines are thicker.

Like the other AOP, changing the DAP settings can make a great difference in how the image appears. You need to experiment to find the approach you like most. The ‘Outline’ setting is especially touchy.

Geometrix AOP

Inspired by: Cubism

Cubism was a 20th century avant-garde art movement, pioneered by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, that revolutionized European painting and sculpture, and inspired related movements in music and literature.

In cubist artworks, objects are broken up, analyzed, and re-assembled in an abstracted form—instead of depicting objects from one viewpoint, the artist depicts the subject from a multitude of viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context.

Often the surfaces intersect at seemingly random angles, removing a coherent sense of depth. The background and object planes interpenetrate one another to create the shallow ambiguous space, one of cubism’s distinct characteristics.

Tip: Use Real-Surreal slider to control the broken effect. Control the no. of strokes to adjust the details

Rough Sketch! AOP

Rough Sketch! AOP & Help

I made an error in the first help file I put up – the image had a space in the file name and the html was looking for the file without the space. If you downloaded the first one you can either remove the space from the file name or redownload the above AOP zip that now has the correct name for the file.
I also put the correct AOP menu image in the zip.

Rough Sketch! AOP is meant to simulate quick sketching with a pen or a dark pencil on very smooth paper (no texture in the line). There are a couple color palettes in it but the main reason I created it was for the black and white line sketching effect. You can, of course, add any palettes you want to the AOP and tweak the color for your personal usage.

It is also quite interesting to use a (water)color AOP to block in background colors and then sketch over that with the black and white. I have included a couple samples here that show that effect.
